About BOB Prepper
BOB –
A bug-out bag or BOB is a portable kit that normally contains the items one would require to survive for 72 hours when evacuating from a disaster, although some kits are designed to last longer periods.
Prepper –
A Prepper is an individual who actively prepares for emergencies. The emphasis is on self-reliance and gaining emergency medical knowledge, self-defense training, and survival skills.
Obviously Bob Prepper is not an actual person, it’s “hopefully” a catchy phrase to help people find and remember this website.
I’m George M. I’m a preparedness enthusiast, retired Army Non-Commissioned Officer, Husband, Father, and Grandfather. I feel in many ways, “preppers”, like myself are looked upon as being a bit crazy or “out there”. Why is that? Historically, being prepared in nothing new. My grandparents, and all the generations before them appreciated the value of being prepared. Having enough food and supplies in the home to get though a rough patch or emergency situation was quite normal and gave them peace of mind. I don’t necessarily believe one generation is any better or worse than the other, but we can certainly learn from the experience and wisdom of those who came before us.
What exactly is a prepper? In my mind he’s not necessarily a republican, a democrat, liberal or conservative. She doesn’t have to fall into a certain income bracket, or practice a particular religion. A prepper doesn’t have to belong to a certain race, or gender. Being a prepper isn’t reserved for people of one sexual orientation or marital status. Being a prepper is being prepared. Being prepared is being responsible, it’s being accountable, it’s taking care of yourself, your loved ones, and your family.
I have created Bob Prepper to present articles and information that I feel are educational and interesting to myself and hopefully other preparedness enthusiast. I’d like to see Bob Prepper grow into a community where people can exchange ideals, teach someone a thing or two, or learn a thing or two. Our motto is “Ready for anything”, and it’s my goal that I can help others, and at the same time become more knowledgeable myself. Admittedly, I’m not an expert, I’m learning all the time.
Since everyone can benefit from being prepared, Bob Prepper does not post any articles or commentary that promotes any one political, religious, or socially leaning. I want all to feel welcome here.
